First Sunday in Hawaii

We walked downtown today had a blizzard at the DQ and than discovered what will become our favourite hangout. It's called Scandinavian Ice which is shaved ice that you choose your flavour and than inside it is icecream or frozen yogurt. They have all these awesome flavours of ice-cream to choose from. This was big enough for all three of us to eat. So good! From there we walked over to the ocean and went swimming. There was a family there from our class. He was born in Korea and she was born in Japan. They have a 6 1/2 year old daughter and 4 1/2 year old son. They adopted both of them from Korea! And get this, they lived in California, he taught high school and before they came here they sold their house and he quit his job. They are giving their lives to God to use them however He wants to so I can't wait to see what God tells them at the end of five months! After the swim they treated Maelyn to Taco Bell. People thought Maelyn was one of their kids because they all look the same. Mike and I had a romantic walk back to the campus. As romantic as it can be walking uphill, in humid weather, with me out of shape, ha!ha! The parents had a meeting tonight with the principals of the school for preschool, elementary and highschool. What a couple! They came here seven years ago not knowing God personally and with her in a wheel chair not able to walk, being fed with a tube, etc. God miraculously healed her! You would never know this woman was ever sick. Totally amazing! Their two teenage kids came here thinking everything about ywam was crazy but God got ahold of their hearts and now they are in ministry. I've never heard anything like it. I just wanted to go up and hug them. They have such a heart for all the kids saying in their seven years of teaching here they have never seen a kid leave here without a changed heart and more of a love for God. This couple is even raising a local two year old drug baby. We feel so privileged to have Maelyn in this school! Anyway, that was our day. Tomorrow is the first real day of classes so I better go to bed. Maelyn sends her love to everyone back in Canada. "Our God is an awesome God, He reigns in heaven above, With wisdom, power and love, Our God is an awesome God" Amen, eh!
