WE ARE OK AFTER THE BIGGEST EARTHQUAKE HERE

Shake, rattle and roll, baby! That's how our morning began. We were still in bed when the ground underneath shook. The dresser drawers came out, the fridge moved, the dishsoap fell into the sink and I said to Mike, I think it's an earthquake! So we did the Ontario thing and got our clothes on Ha! Everyone else were outside in their pj's. When we got outside the ground shook again! We all moved into an open field and formed a big circle and prayed like it was our last one. Very eery feeling, wondering if it was going to happen again. I didn't realize how serious it was until people who have been through them before said they never felt one like this! The teacher we had this week became our Moses to us and calmly prayed the most beautiful prayer I have ever heard. Peace fell over us. Nobody cried or screamed. He stayed around to prayer for anyone that felt scared but everyone seemed ok. If I had to be anywhere for an earthquake this is the place to be surrounded by Christians that pray immediately. Our power just came back on. We are told there could be aftershocks until tomorrow so we are supposed to stay outdoors. Thankfully it happened on a Sunday when families were together. I think there is more damage in town. Mike was busy this morning fixing broken pipes. This is a sign of the times we live in folks. The bible talks about wars, earthquakes, famines, etc. I told Maelyn she will see more of this stuff in her life time. We all need to take a good look at what we believe, what motivates us and realize that whether it be by a natural diaster, a man made one such as a nuclear war or ill health we are all going to pass through this life into the next. That's one thing none of us will escape and when that time comes unexpected, like it could have for us here in Hawaii today, do you know where you are spending eternity? Don't be surprised! If you've been reading my blog and never heard the gospel before, God will remind you of this crazy woman on her Mission Possible! Aloha x0

Glad to hear that you are all OK. Seems like you were very lucky. News reports indicate heavy rains/landslides and quakes continue to affect some islands.
Thinking of you,
